El círculo cromático / The chromatic circle

Para toda persona que le guste pintar, lo más cómodo para él, es tener ya elaborada una amplia paleta de colores para poder utilizarlos en cualquier momento que lo necesite. Pero no siempre disponemos de todos los colores que necesitamos, en ese caso, el pintor o dibujante debe elaborarlo.

El círculo cromático nos ayuda a comprender qué colores son los primarios, cuáles los secundarios y qué color es el complementario de otro. 

En el centro de nuestro trabajo formando un triángulo equilátero, podemos observar los colores amarillo, magenta y cian. Son los llamados "colores primarios", porque no se basan en ningún otro color. Combinando dos ellos creamos otros colores del círculo cromático y mezclando los tres, conseguimos el color café.

En los triángulos exteriores que forman un hexágono tenemos los colores secundarios, el naranja, el verde y el morado. Estos colores se crean mezclando en cantidades iguales dos colores primarios.

Para saber qué color es el complementario de otro observando el círculo cromático se ve fácilmente. Siempre el complementario de un primario es el secundario que está situado enfrente, es decir, el complementario del magenta sería el verde y el del azul, el color naranja.

Para completar nuestro trabajo, un círculo con una degradación de colores con los colores terciarios. Aquellos que obtenemos con la mezcla de un primario y un secundario.

For every person that likes painting the most comfortable thing is to have an increasing palette of colours to use them at any time that he wishes. But not always we get all the colours that we need; in this case, the painter or draftsman must create them.

The chromatic circle helps us to understand what colours are the primary, which colours are the secundary and what colour is complementary of other colour.

In the middle of our work making an equilateral triangle, we can see the colours yellow, magenta and `cian´ blue. Their name is `primary colour´ because they are not based in other colours. Combining two of them we create others colours of the chromatic circle and blending the three we get the coffee colour.

In the external triangles that make the hexagon, we have the secondary colours, the orange, the green and the purple. These colours are created blending identical amounts of two primary colours.

To know what colour is the complementary of another looking at the chromatic circle, we can see more easily.  Always the complementary colour is the secondary colour placed in front of it, that is to say, the complementary os the magenta colour would be the green colour, and the `cian´ blue, the orange colour.

To complete our work, we can see a circle with a degradation of colours with third colours. Those are obtained with the mixture of a primary colour and secondary colour.
